Fidelity Investments - Merrimack NH

About the Program
The Fidelity Investments facility in Merrimack, New Hampshire, is located approximately 50 miles northeast of Boston, Massachusetts. The corporate campus covers over 500 acres that are largely forest and grassland areas with a variety of songbird species historically reported on the property. To help provide shelter and breeding habitat for these birds, employees have installed, maintained and monitored bird boxes designed for cavity-nesting birds native to the region.

• Since 2017, a group of native songbird species, including eastern bluebirds, tree swallows, and black-capped chickadees have been targeted in this project.
• Throughout the breeding season, the team conducts weekly monitoring using a data collection sheet from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and shares results with their NestWatch program. 
• 2020 was the project’s most successful year, with 84 fledglings of eastern bluebirds, tree swallows and house wrens. 
• While there are issues with predators and nest takeovers, the bird boxes still housed nests the following two years, with 68 fledglings in 2021 and 57 in 2022.
