Practices and Impacts
- The landscaped area consisting of 20 garden beds is monitored by employees who note and photograph the landscaped vegetation as well as any wildlife using the area.
- The grassland habitat is consistently monitored by employees. The area is also managed through mowing to reduce woody vegetation, which has been successful as the area is full of native vegetation and wildlife.
- The York pond and wetlands cover 20 acres and are monitored by employees. The area consists mostly of native vegetation.
- The team monitors the painted turtle population in the pond. Structures are added to provide the turtles with locations to bask. The habitat also provides areas for nesting and shelter.
