About the Program
Bayer Crop Science's Upper Kunia Farm is located on the island of O'ahu, 22 miles northwest of Honolulu. The site encompasses 220 acres of public-private agricultural fields. In 2016, three acres were set aside to be managed as a native grassland habitat for pollinators. The habitat is planted with native shrubs, grasses and trees to preserve the endemic flora of Hawai'i.

  • The team also maintains an irrigation system on-site.
  • The team collects data on plant health and diversity of over 20 native plant species during the growing season
