Kings Mountain Plant

Introduction
Bridgestone America's Kings Mountain facility is a textile manufacturing plant located in Gaston County, North Carolina, about 35 miles west of Charlotte. The team’s objective is to help restore and increase the populations of cavity-nesting birds, focusing on eastern bluebirds. The habitat site features a pollinator garden, waterbodies, woody habitats and native bird boxes. A bat box was installed in 2017.

Practices and Impacts

• The team maintains the pollinator garden, which also provides a source of water in the bird baths for birds.
• The team monitors the bird boxes monthly and observes nesting activity.
• The bat box shows no activity.
