Nashville and Davidson County’s Bourdeaux Landfill is a 200-acre waste site located in Tennessee. The site uses a native grass mix across the property to maintain a grassland habitat for native wildlife.
Program Impacts
- In 2002, team members planted native grass mix which provides shelter and a diverse food source for native wildlife. The native grass mix reduces mowing frequency conserving labor, fuel, and mechanical risk. Employees informally monitor the grassland weekly using visual observations and photographs during site visits to the habitat.
