About the Program
The DTE Allen Road Service Center Complex is located in Melvindale, Michigan, about 10 miles west of Detroit. The team focuses on increasing pollinator habitat by planting Michigan native plants and the reduction of turf grass, mowing and stormwater runoff. In addition, bat boxes have been designed and maintained to provide two local bat species, the little brown bat and the big brown bat, with safe places to roost.

- Bat boxes have been mounted and are regularly monitored for signs of usage. Although bat presence has not been observed to date, the boxes serve as an awareness tool for employees who can watch the boxes on-site and learn about the species.
