About the Program
The 3M Center in Maplewood Minnesota was once a small-scale mining and manufacturing facility. It has since expanded and houses a large campus that also works on innovations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics while still manufacturing. This campus is located in eastern Minnesota, only five miles from St. Paul and 15 miles from Minneapolis. One of the buildings on campus boasts a landscaped garden that aims to reduce the impacts of stormwater runoff while also providing habitat to native pollinator species.

Practices and Impacts
- The green roof on-site is a fully landscaped garden atop one of the building's roofs. Local roofing organizations were consulted to find the best material and drainage structures to be used for this installation.
