Monitoring 101: Building the Foundation for a Strong Conservation Project
Monitoring is one of the most important elements of a successful habitat or species conservation project, as it helps conservation teams assess the success of the project and determine how to improve it.
In this webinar, WHC staff will define adequate monitoring, show why monitoring is key for documenting the progress of conservation projects and explain how to integrate monitoring into the management of a project. The webinar will also demonstrate how monitoring fits into a WHC Conservation Certification® application. Lastly, the presenters will discuss the basic strategies for monitoring conservation projects, including how to use baseline data and designing a monitoring protocol that fits your project. The webinar will feature example templates for monitoring both habitats and species that teams can utilize for various projects.
